Ygn – MDl- Mingun – Sagine – Pyin Oo Lwin – Hsipaw – Bagan- Thandwe

Day 1

Welcome to the Garden City Yangon.

Arrive by afternoon flight to Yangon International Airport.  Our English station guide will give you welcome gifts including postcard & Map of Myanmar. Then, transfer to hotel. And

visit Botataung Pagoda, a famous landmark on Yangon’s waterfrontwhere one can see Buddha’s hair relic and Nanthida Jetty to see people coming and going for work from either side of Yangon River. And then continue to Sule Pagoda, Maha Bandoola Park with Independence Monument, located at the heart of the city, Chaukhtatgyi reclining Buddha image and Bogyoke market- a shopping market with more than 2000 shops selling all kinds of products but of special mention is the beautiful exotic “Shan Bag” velvet slippers, lacquer ware, Gems shops and all sorts of handicraft. Evening visit to the 2,500 years old magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda sheathed in 11 tons of pure gold and 4,350 diamonds weighing 1800 carats!  At sunset, the Shwedagon offers visitor a spectacular show of lights and shadows. Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.

 

Day – 2  

Ygn ~ Mandalay – Mingun

 

After breakfast transfer to Airport for Mandaly visit to  famous Mahamuni Pagoda, one of the most sacred Buddha Image in Mandalay. Then a short visit to Gold foil making cottage industry. Then transfer to jetty for 45 minutes boat trip to Mingun. Sightseeing around Mingun includes: Mingun pagoda known as the biggest brick pile, biggest ringing Mingun bell and Myatheintan Pagoda.

Return to Mandalay and proceed to Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery; noted for its exquisite wood carvings, Shwe Kyaung, Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the World’s Biggest Book for its stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures, Kyauktawkyi pagoda. Tour continues to Mandalay Hill, a vantage point for a panoramic view of the city and a spectacular sunset view.

It is worthy to have a stroll up the hill enjoying panoramic views from different location. Return can be made by car as there is also a car track by the base of elevator just before the platform. Overnight at Hotel in Mandalay

 

Day 3

 Mandalay – Amarapura – Ava – Sagaing – Mandalay

 

After breakfast at hotel, visit an ancient city of Amarapura, 11 km south of Mandalay highlighting Bagaya Monastery with a famous collection of Buddha images; Maha Gandayon Monastery.  I would like to recommend you to depart from your hotel early in the morning (about 6h00 AM) to profit the sunrise at U Bein bridge. Then proceed to 1.2 km long U Bein Wooden Bridge, built since 1782 with over 1700 huge teak pillars, is one of the worth visiting sites.  The clients can have leisurely walk on the almost 1 mile long bridge

 

Then visit to Inwa (Ava), a historical capital founded by King Thado Minbya in 1364.  Extended visit will be made to Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery which is a fine example of Myanmar masonry art, Bagaya monastery and architecture, Mainu Brick Monastery and old watch tower. Tour continues to picturesque Sagaing Hills, 21 km south-east of Mandalay and west bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. Visit U Min Thoneze pagoda and Sagaing Hills is a retreat for Buddhist devotees with numerous pagodas and monasteries. Overnight at Hotel in Mandalay. (B)

 

 

 

 

Day 4

Mandaly – Pyin Oo Lwin (Maymyo) by car

 

After breakfast visit to Pyin Oo Lwin. 67 km from MDL and along the way enjoy the scenic beauty.  Arrive Pyin Oo Lwin  sightseeing Chinese Temple, Botanical Garden and Maha Ant Htoo Kan Thar and BE fall. Evening time direct go to Hsipaw its will take 2 hours ( 141 km ) from Pyin Oo lwin .Overnight at Hispaw Hotel .

 

Day 5

Hsipaw sightseeing  by Boat & Trekking

 

After breakfast  sightseeing to Hispaw’s large market. The Dokhtawaddy river just east of the market is cool and clear.   . 1 hour boat ride upstream river for nice scenery with the Mountain, vally, fruit plantations along the river.Stop boat riding to take short trekking up the hill through fruit plantation For 45 minutes to visit old Tai (SHAN)monastery which rs 150 yrs old.Sitting alone in the forest Pass through the plantations of pineapple, papaya, orange .Which are widely grown along the way to the monastery. Learn interesting thing at the monastery and return to the jetty, again boat ride to the river confluence at which swimming is available on the individual wish. .On the way back of boat ride, go visit to a SHAN village which has typical houses with a small charming garden

 

After lunch start the trekking to the Shan tribe village. Along the way enjoy the villagers’ seasonal plantation in their fields.  SHAN VILLAGES (Half Day trip)4 hrs walking (round trip)Farmer’s villages, the panoramic scenery of paddy,Seasonal crops, mountain, river, living style of Shan villages, House wife home business(hand fan, basket with weaving bamboo, cheroot rolling) .over night at Mr Charles Hotel in Hsipaw

 

Day 6

Hsipaw –Mandalay by train

 

After breakfast transfer to railway station for train to Mandalay. The train leave from Hsipaw at about 9 am and along the way enjoy the scenic beauty. And along the way you’ll crawl across the famous Gokteik Bridge and wind around four monumental switchbacks. This route was long known as the black-market train among the Myanmar because of all the contraband goods smuggled on board in both directions. Arrive Mandalay round about 10 pm. Overnight at Mandalay Hotel

 

Day 7

Mandalay – Bagan by car

 

After breakfast at hotel, drive to Bagan . It will take about 3  : 30 hours (180 km) .Transfer to Hotel Check  in  Sightseeing includes visits to visit Shwezigon Pagoda a prototype of later Myanmar stupa.And Gawdawpalin  ShweGu Gyi Pagoda and Tharabar Gate. Overnight at Bagan Hotel.

 

Day 8

 Bagan excursion

 

Breakfast at hotel  sightseeing tour continues with visits to lacquer ware industry where you can study traditional Myanmar lacquer ware making, Manuha Temple with gigantic Buddha images, a captive king’s impression of life in prison; Nanpaya, an Early-style temple with the finest stone carvings. Although it has spots lights installed, it would be safer to bring your own touch as electricity supply can be shut-off from time to time. And visit to Anada Temple an architectural masterpiece .

 

In the evening enjoy the sunset at Lawkananda pagoda , on the east bank of Ayeyarwaddy river.  Overnight at Bagan hotel

 
(In Bagan there are more than 2000 temples & stupas. Indeed it is difficult to cover all temples within limited time. Therefore we have carefully selected only some major temples for you in order to avoid hectic tourism. 

 

 

Day 9

 

Bagan – Thandwe by PM flight

After breakfast transfer to airport for flight to Thandwe. On arrival transfer to hotel for check in and rest of day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel in Ngapali.

 

Day 10

 

Ngapali

After breakfast sightseeing with boat trip  overnight at  Ngapali Resort  in Ngapali.

 

Day 11

After breakfast transfer to airport for flight back to Yangon. On arrival at Yangon, you can visit Yangon by private car; Bogyoke market for a short shopping, Kabar Aye pagoda and Mahapasana cave. Transfer to airport for departure flight.
